Chirurgie des oreilles

PROMINENT EARS SURGERY

Ears complete their growth at around 6 to 7 years of age, only then it is possible to proceed their reshaping.

Usually a correction is needed when the cartilage does not form the necessary fold to bring the edge of the ear to the backward position.

INTERVENTION

We will remove the excess cartilage that is causing the ear to stick out before pinning the ear back along the fold into its new position.
The incision is placed behind the outer ear and the future fold, it will be completely invisible. A modeling bandage is applied.

OPERATING SUITES

The dressing is removed, more or less quickly depending on the case. There will be a postoperative control 8-10 days after surgery, with removal of any suture (dissolving sutures can be used).

However, it will keep the ears in a good position with a slightly elastic band for about six weeks, so that the cartilage heals in a good position. The ear can be quite sensitive for a few weeks. The end result can be assessed only after six months.
