Chirurgie des paupières
The eyelids can start to hang down over time (blepharoplasty), get wrinkled and have a fat deposit. Blepharoplasty can affect the upper eyelids and / or the lower ones. This surgery isa surgery of “good looks” designed to give a natural and refreshed look.
Upper eyelid correction:
If isolated, it is performed under local anesthesia.
The technique is to remove the excess of fat. The scar is situated in the natural fold of the eyelid being therefore invisible.
Lower eyelid correction:
Smoothing and tightening of the skin of the lower eyelids while reducing the excess of fat and tear sacks.
This technique has to be made outside of sunny periods (risk of brown spots).
In case of Herpes (cold sores) prevention based on Aciclovir (Zelitrex) is imperative.
The conventional technique:
Under assisted local anesthesia (anesthesia which puts you to sleep slightly).
An incision (scar) is made along the lash line. The skin is peeled off, the sacks removed moderately and reinstated into the orbit (herniated fat). Then the skin is tightened with a draping external movement. We do not tighten up and down but from top to bottom and inside out. An external point located beneath the eyelid is fixed to avoid the round eye effect.
The scar can be inside the eye (called the conjunctiva).
Under assisted local anesthesia, a laser incision is made at the conjunctiva. Then the fat pockets are removed. The skin is not tightened. This technique applies to young people.
